Everything on this route lies between north-west and north-east of the café. That is the useful thing to know before you set off: Virgin Coffee sits at the southern edge of the cluster, in the banking blocks, and the walking is northward from the door.
The order below is the order that works on foot rather than the order of importance — the market first because it is closest, the Post Office because it is the point you turn around at, and Independence Palace last because it brings you back down towards Nguyễn Thái Bình instead of stranding you at the top of the map.
Start early. This is a walk that reads as pleasant at eight in the morning and as a mistake at one in the afternoon.
Before you set off: the Museum of Fine Arts is two minutes the other way, and it is indoors. Coffee near the Museum of Fine Arts is the short version; the longer read says what is inside.
Each figure is the leg from the stop before it, not the distance from the café. The distances from the door to each of these places are in The first day, in metres.
